Ari Lennox
Courtney Shanade Salter (born March 26 1991) more popularly known as her professional name Ari Lennox is an American musician and singer who hails from Washington, D.C. She is the first female artist to be signed to J. Cole's record label Dreamville Records. On October 21, 2016 she dropped Pho, her debut EP for the label Dreamville Records. This was when she began to gain recognition. Shea Butter Baby her debut studio release was May 7th 2019. Ari Lennox first released music online in 2012. She released her debut album Ariography and her mixtape debut in 2013 with the mixtape Five Finger Discount. In 2014, she released additional music on the internet including Bound. On July 21st, 2015, Omen included her in Elephant Eyes the track"Sweat it Out.. J. Cole, who was part of the Dreamville team at the time and wanted her to perform on Rihanna reference. Then, in December of 2008 the news was made public that Rihanna had been hired with Dreamville Records. Backseat was the result of her participation to the Revenge of the Dreamers II album. In October 2016, she released her first EP Pho. Ari Lennox was a guest on J. Cole's Change, and she performed as part of The 4 Your Eyez Only Tour as the opening artist. In 2018 she went on to guest feature on two tracks with her labelmates EarthGang and EarthGang on Nothing but the Best and Bas on Icarus. Ari Lennox, on the 16th of July in 2018 was the first artist to release her single "Whipped Cream" from Shea Butter Baby. The music video to accompany it came out on the 5th. The second single she released was called Grampa on the 9th of November. On November 13 she dropped two more singles entitled One and Pdigree. One and Pdigree. Then she appeared in the Creed II soundtrack with Cole on the track Shea Butter Baby on November 16th. She released the single on February 26, 2019, to accompany her debut album with the same name. The 20th of February, 2019, a music video was made available for the track. It has already received nearly three million views on YouTube within the first week. In December of 2018 the singer was a part of her From East Atlanta With Love Tour, which featured 6LACK.
